Dr. Shapiro shares her experience as a forensic psychologist.
Our speaker this morning was Dr. Jodie Shapiro, a recently retired forensic psychologist who worked for the Massachusetts Trial Court system for the last twenty years.  She conducted competency and criminal responsibility evaluations as well as addictions and mental health evaluations in the District and Superior Courts.  Dr. Shapiro explained to us the process of evaluation within the court system, and reflected on her experience as a participant in the Justice system.  Her comments gave us deeper insight and understanding into the processes of the evaluation system.  It was a pleasure to listen to someone of deep integrity and compassion discuss and reflect upon her public service.  We are grateful to Dr. Shapiro, and to her colleagues nationwide, for the important work they perform for all of us daily.
